FCA Classic Games Feature Agriplex Athletes

Several Agriplex area athletes will participate in the Big Country Fellowship of Christian Athletes games this summer.  Outstanding high school seniors are selected from a nomination process to participate in football, basketball, volleyball, softball, and baseball games to be held across the Big Country June 11th through June 13th.  All Agriplex area athletes that participate will be a part of the south teams in their respective games.

The games get underway with the girls and boys all-star basketball games at the Brownwood Coliseum on Thursday, June 11th. 

Agriplex area athletes participating in the girls basketball game are Chelsea Toliver from Ballinger and Bailey Halfmann from Miles.  Ballinger's Jessica Good will be a member of the cheering squad in Brownwood. 

The softball and baseball games will be played on Friday, June 12th in San Angelo.  Miles High School will be represented by Madison Wilson in the softball game.  Ballinger's Ben Holden will play in the baseball game. 

The girls volleyball game will be played on Saturday, June 13th at Wylie High School.  Bronte's Stacia Emfinger will participate in the game on the south team.

The 16th annual Myrle Greathouse All-Star Football Classic game will be played at Abilene's Shotwell Stadium on Saturday, June 13th.  Several Agriplex area athletes will be playing on the south team.  Bronte High School will be represented by Lance Burns, Justin Carson will represent Ballinger High School, Jimmy John Ripley will play in the game representing Winters High School, and Colton Wilson will represent Miles High School. 



Miles Tri-Church Vacation Bible School

The Miles Tri-Church Vacation Bible School will be held July 6 through July 9 at the Miles Lutheran Church.  Classes will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 PM July 6th, 7th, and 8th.  The musical program will be held beginning at 6:00 PM on July 9th.

The Miles Tri-Church Vacation Bible School will be open to children from three years of age through the sixth grade.  The theme will be SonSpark Labs with a chemistry-science theme.  The Tri-Church Vacation Bible School is sponsored by the Miles Lutheran and Methodist Churches, as well as St. Thomas Catholic Church.  All children from any denomination are welcome to attend.  



Bluff Creek Cowboy Church Playday Saturday

Bluff Creek Cowboy Church will host the second in their five playday series Saturday (July 18) at the Bluff Creek Cowboy Church Arena, at 3802 FM 2405 in Drasco.  Age groups will include lead line, five and under, six to eight years, nine to twelve years, 13 to 15 years, 16 to 18 years, and an open division for ages 19 years and up.  Events will include barrels, poles, flag race, goat tying, and a stake race.  Entries will be accepted beginning at 9:00 AM with the play day events beginning at 10:00 AM.  Those entrants that participate in a minimum of three of the five scheduled playdays will be eligible to win a prize buckle at the conclusion of the series. 

The remaining playday dates are August 15 and September 19.
